A list will be posted outside of the band/choir room asking students to sign up to receive music. This does not mean they are committed to attending S/E Contest - this just means they would like to look at some music so they can decide if it's something they'd like to do. Actual sign-up information will go out at the end of November and will be collected before Winter Break.
If students take private lessons, they should first talk to their private teacher about receiving music from them before they request music from us - their teacher will have a better idea of what music would be appropriate for them.
We are asking students to request music by Friday, November 11th. This should allow us to choose music, get it copied, and have it to them before Thanksgiving break. We want the students to have enough time with the music to decide if this is something they would like to pursue.
If Solo and Ensemble Contest is something they would like to try, they would be committing to finding a piano accompanist (and paying for that service based on the amount charged by each piano player), paying a fee of $9 for a solo or $6 for each ensemble member, attending Pre-Contest at MJH on Saturday 1/21/17, and attending the actual contest on either 2/11/17 or 2/18/17 (both Saturdays, but site and date has not yet been assigned).
